Dear Prospective Member,

Joining the AWC was one of my best business decisions. After being in the construction industry for 12 years, I started my own company and things got real different real quick! When I heard about AWC , I immediately called and inquired about the organization, went to my first meeting and have been an active member ever since. Being a new "contractor" is challenging. Through networking with AWC members, I gained insight and knowledge that otherwise would have taken years of hard knocks to achieve.

The AWC offers many informative programs that helped me make better decisions in critical areas of my business, such as contract law, prevailing wage, insurance, bonding, project labor agreements and financial planning. AWC also offers fun "get-away" weekends and the annual golf tournament where I have gained friendships that I truly hold dear! Whenever I need some advice or just a listening ear, I know where to go. I hope you decide to join us!

Dear Potential Member,

I am Helen Baker, owner of Golden Valley Transfer in Maple Grove. I have been a member of the AWC since 1998. What I get out of being a member of the AWC is the ability to network with other women in different types of industries, and getting together with all of the agencies like Mn/DOT, MAC and MET Council. Also, being apart of the golf tournament gives us an opportunity to network with contractors in the different industries and raise money for female student scholarships pursuing careers in non-traditional trades.
