“Through AWC, I have gained friendships that I truly hold dear.”

The AWC represents women business owners (WBO) throughout the year and promotes doing business with women contractors. One of our main goals is to provide our WBO members opportunities to meet with general contractors, government agencies and community-based organizations face-to-face. We promote networking as a means of building successful business relationships.

  • AWC focuses on stimulating public policy and industry practices that affect women construction firms.

Members and staff of the AWC meet with and advise the following organizations:

Minnesota Department of Transportation
Metropolitan Airports Commission
University of Minnesota
City of Saint Paul (Construction Partnering Program)
Associated General Contractors of Minnesota
National Association of Minority Contractors-Upper Midwest

  • “Networking Mixers” offer WBO members, agency organizations, general/prime contractors and service providers an opportunity to gather and share expertise and business opportunities to help members grow their company.
  • Quarterly General Contractor Open Houses are an exclusive benefit of membership. At these events, members are invited by a general contractor company to meet one-on-one with their project managers and estimators at their corporate office. This is an exciting way for members to make connections and support the growth of their business.
  • AWC’s annual Golf Tournament is the primary vehicle for generating funds for scholarships presented to college women studying the industry.
  • Timely newsletter, Web site and electronic communications keep members up-to-date with association activities and initiatives. As a member, you can advertise at discounted rates. We also keep you notified of bid notices targeted towards WBOs.
  • Educational Programs and Board Member Committees allow us to inform and network with women business owners and industry leaders, as well as provide opportunities for personal and business growth. Our training and committees work to provide invaluable information to help members run their business.
  • Discounts are available to members of the AWC for AWC events and through AWC partnering agreements with other organizations. For example, as a member, of the AWC, you can save 20% on your first year dues when you join AGC.
  • AWC’s Annual and Holiday Celebrations are great opportunities to discuss industry concerns, meet industry leaders and create new business contacts in a festive personal setting.
